Crisis Services
The Mary K. Shell Mental Health Center is accessible during and after normal business hours as an alternative to more restrictive care facilities such as a hospital. If you think that you need to go to a hospital, come here first for an evaluation. The crisis stabilization unit offers the following services for adults and children:

  • 24 hour services including crisis intervention to prevent hospitalization
  • Assessment and referral to other mental health services, including hospitals
  • Medication evaluation and monitoring
  • Psychiatric evaluation and monitoring
  • Support families and significant others
  • Case management services and linkage to useful resources
  • Substance abuse referrals
