County-Paid Life Insurance The County of Kern provides Life Insurance to Management employees, Confidential employees and employees represented by the Kern County Prosecutors Association (KCPA) and Central California Association of Public Employees (CCAPE). The benefit for Management is one
times annual salary, limited to $50,000. Confidential Employees, Deputy District Attorneys, and CCAPE employees receive 1/2 times annual salary, limited to $10,000. Management/Confidential employees and KCPA members may purchase matching coverage through this program by contacting the CAO - Health Benefits Division.Optional - Payroll Deductible Life Insurance New York Life Term Insurance, Whole Life, Universal Life, and Employees' Whole Life are available to Employees and their Dependents on a payroll deduction basis. Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Both Whole Life and Universal Life are available under this program on a payroll deduction basis without any requirement for a health questionnaire or physical examination during a qualified enrollment period.
