Public Outreach

Through public outreach we strive to educate our fellow citizens on the issues of child support and paternity. The Department of Child Support Services handles hundreds of new cases each month. Many of those who find themselves involved in a paternity action are completely unaware of the impact this legally mandated commitment will have on the rest of their lives.

In an attempt to increase public awareness of the available services offered by the Department of Child Support Services and importance of providing both financial and emotional support for children, we have prepared a short presentation of approximately 50 minutes and are available to come to your school, business or organization. The presentation that we have prepared for students gives them a sobering dose of the financial realities and lifestyle restrictions of teen parenthood. We simply explain the costs using actual case histories and involve the students in an interactive discussion. The students find the presentation interesting and informative.
