p.258); present membership established by Board of Supervisors Resolution
of January 10, 1961, pursuant to Government Code Section 26104; renamed
to Kern County Chamber of Commerce pursuant to Ordinance G-6636 enacted
on October 5, 1999; on January 25, 2000, the name change was rescinded
and returned to the Board of Trade; Ordinance G-6828 enacted 9/11/2001
set bi-monthly meeting schedule and compensation rates. |
| Membership Qualifications: |
Ten members: Residents of Kern County with two members from each supervisorial district being appointed by the Board of Supervisors. |
| Term: |
To serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors. |
| Duties: |
To advise and assist the Board of Supervisors in the matter of advertising, promoting, and making known the resources of Kern County. |
| Meeting Place and Time: |
Kern County Board of Trade, 2101 Oak Street, Bakersfield on the second Wednesday of the months of January, March, May,
July, September and November at 11:00 A.M. |
| Compensation: |
$50.00 per meeting, for not more than one meeting in any bi-monthly meeting schedule, plus actual and necessary travel expenses incurred in performance of duties as a Kern County Board of Trade Director. |
| Ethics Training: |
Pursuant to State law, on or after January 1, 2006, any person newly appointed shall successfully complete a course
in ethics training approved by the Fair political Practices Commission and Attorney General. Each
member is required to complete this training every two years. |
