| Membership Qualifications: |
The San Joaquin Valley Library System Advisory Board
is composed of eight members, one representing each member library jurisdiction.
Current member libraries are Fresno County, Coalinga-Huron District, Kern County, Kings
County, Madera County, Porterville, Tulare City, and Tulare County.
Representatives are to represent the public-at-large
and the underserved residents in the system service area. The under served
are population segments with exceptional service needs not adequately met
by traditional library service patterns; including, but not limited to,
those persons who are geographically isolated, economically disadvantaged,
functionally illiterate, or non-English speaking or limited English-speaking
ability, shut-in, institutionalized, or handicapped. |
| Term: |
Two-year term. May serve no more than two consecutive terms. |
| Duties: |
The Advisory Board will review the System Plan of
Service, makes recommendations to the San Joaquin Valley Library System
Administrative Council, and maintains contact with the several communities
in the System Service area. |
| Meeting Place and Time: |
Meetings will be held on the first Friday of
the month at 10:00 a.m. during the odd months beginning with July, 2003. Special
meetings may be called as needed. |
