The Construction Services Inspection staff has inspected literally hundreds of projects ranging from projects of $10,000 in construction value to individual projects exceeding $30,000,000. Our primary focus is inspection of construction projects being built for the County of Kern (whether they be new, remodel or expansion type projects). Private sector construction projects built within County jurisdiction are not part of our responsibilities.
This concentration allows our experienced staff to be thoroughly familiar with California Public Contract code, prevailing wage issues, State and County licensing issues and proper close out/warranty procedures for public construction.
Most of our inspectors are International Code Council (ICC) certified for commercial building inspection with some having additional inspection licenses or certifications including:
- Class A Certificate, Office of Statewide Health, Planning and Development (O.S.H.P.D.) for hospital inspection
- Department of the State Architect (D.S.A.) approval for inspection of structural projects including masonry, concrete, structural steel and wood framing
- Previous experience as Plan Check Engineers
Our staff is available to assist other governmental agencies in their construction efforts. Please call as to the availability of our inspection team for your specific requirements. Please feel free to contact:
