The General Services Division (GSD) of the County Administration Office plays an integral support role for the governing branch of Kern County. Some of the services that General Services provides are:

Building design and construction
Building maintenance and general custodial services for county buildings
Purchasing services: General Services assists all Kern County departments, agencies and special districts with their purchasing needs, resulting in a cost savings for all
Real estate services

Supervision and control over acquisition and utilization of all telecommunication resources and facilities
