| Operating as an adjunct to local law enforcement, County Security is a very real presence in the downtown campus. With staff monitoring activity in the Administration, Courts and Public Services Buildings, County employees have a partner in safety and security. |

| Performing a wide variety of tasks from morning until late into the evening, County Security works hard to make our facilities safe and secure. |

County Security is responsible for providing the following services:
- Administering the downtown electronic access system
- Securing downtown facilities each evening
- Providing after-hours escort services
- Operating and using an automatic external defibrillator (AED). Stored at the Security Station on the first floor of the Administration Building, the AED can be a life-saver in the event of a heart attack emergency.
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair of County elevators and escalators
- Establishment of parking protocols in the Administration Building parking structure in order to help regulate the parking challenge posed by a growing County employee population and a huge customer base - thereby keeping parking reasonable and sane
- Issuing parking passes for special events held in the Administration building
- Patrolling parking lots and issuing citations when necessary
- Processing parking payments and hearing appeals and complaints
