CPSP 2006-2007

CPSP Roundtables will move from Thursday to Tuesday starting in January 2007 to allow for more CPSP sites to send staff. The subject of the Roundtable will be developing the Individualized Care Plan in all four areas of assessment. Several tables have been created to assist CPSP practitioners in understanding care plans. The 2006-2007 CPSP Roundtable schedule can be found on this site.

Medi-Cal Audits and Investigations teams continue to be active in checking CPSP sites for compliance with Medi-Cal regulations. The Perinatal Services Coordinator is available to assist all CPSP providers with chart reviews and individual training at sites to insure that services and documentation conform to regulations.

The State provides 4 to 5 trainings a year for CPSP providers. A one-day Overview is offered in addition to the 2-day Steps to Take training. Both the Overview and Steps to Take are open to all CPSP practitioners and those interested in CPSP. New Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHW’s) must attend at least the 2-day Steps to Take Training. It is also recommended that staff that have worked in CPSP for several years be sent to the same trainings as a “refresher” to their previous training. More information on training is available from the Perinatal Services Coordinator.

The CPSP Provider Handbook and Steps to Take are available on the State CPSP site and can be downloaded and copied. There is a Link to that site from this site. Please make sure you have an updated version.

Brochures have been added that you may download and use. If you make any changes, please give credit to the County that developed them. Most brochures are in both English and Spanish.

Your local Perinatal Services Coordinator can provide program information, updates, and training. For more information, contact Linda Erb at (661) 868-0523 or e-mail to the link at the top of the page.
