The Kern County Board of Supervisors proclaimed June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month on May 19, 2026. Local partners—including the Aging & Adult Services Department, Commission on Aging, Bakersfield American Indian Health Project, and Behavioral Health and Recovery Services—will host an awareness conference on June 11, 2026, at the Lux Event Center in Bakersfield, located at 4302 Gosford Road, Bakersfield.
