Kern County Child Support Services is hosting the 17th Annual Ready-Set Back 2 School Health & Wellness Fair at the Kern County Museum on Thursday, August 6th, 2026. Since 2009, Child Support Services team members and partners fundraise to help families and children in Kern County go back to school with all their essentials. These events have helped over 40,000 families receive a free backpack with school supplies.

Families are invited to join this free community event! Kids will receive a free backpack, school supplies & more. Child Support Services also partners with Kern County Library to host giveaway events at their branches in Ridgecrest, Wasco, Buttonwillow and California City.
