Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap for August 26, 2025

The Kern County Board of Supervisors met today as scheduled for Tuesday’s August 26, 2025, Board Meeting. Supervisor Phillip Peters (District 1), Supervisor Chris Parlier (District 2), Supervisor Jeff Flores (District 3), Supervisor David Couch (District 4), and Chairwoman Leticia Perez (District 5) were in attendance. Meeting Highlights:

Item No. 3 AM session:

  • The Board heard opening remarks on the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Recommended Budget.
  • The $4.5 billion budget reflects a fiscally responsible and balanced strategy that protects essential public services while navigating an increasingly complex financial future. The budget focuses on maintaining mandated essential services, ensuring public safety, investing in critical infrastructure, supporting our workforce, and directing resources to areas of greatest need as the county’s financial outlook continues to evolve.

Item No. 2 AM session:

During Board Member announcements or reports, District 1 Supervisor Phillip Peters presented a Certificate of Recognition honoring Kern County Emergency Services Manager Georgianna Armstrong upon her retirement of 22 years of dedicated service to the County of Kern. Item No. 96 AM session:

The Board closed the public hearing and adopted a resolution approving the FY 2025-2026 budgets for the County of Kern.

Item No. 97 AM session:

The Board adopted a resolution honoring Clerk of the Board Kathleen Krause upon her retirement with 18 years of dedicated service to the County of Kern. You can watch the presentation HERE.
