Description/Services Provided

The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) provides free assistance with Medicare problems and other health insurance issues for seniors and disabled adults. Services provided include:

  • Assistance understanding your rights as a health care consumer
  • Counseling on your benefits, including how to appeal Medicare claim denials
  • Explanation of Medicare Supplements (Medigaps), Medicare Advantage Plans and Part D - Prescription Plan comparisons
  • Understanding Long Term Care Insurance
