An extension of Property Management, the County’s Energy Coordination program oversees energy and utility usage across County facilities and operations. The program focuses on managing energy acquisition, monitoring usage and costs, and supporting initiatives that improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term cost control.
Energy Coordination serves as a centralized resource for County departments by providing coordination, data-driven insights, and technical support related to County energy, utilities, and on-site generation systems.
Program Scope
The Energy Coordination program provides County-wide support in the following areas:
- Monitoring and analyzing energy and utility costs across County facilities
- Coordinating the purchase and management of energy and utilities at the most favorable available rates
- Identifying and supporting energy efficiency opportunities that reduce operational costs
- Providing guidance and technical support to County departments on energy and utility management
- Overseeing County-owned and third-party on-site energy generation systems, including solar photovoltaic systems
- Coordinating with internal departments, utilities, vendors, and external agencies on energy-related initiatives
- Supporting benchmarking, regulatory reporting, and participation in incentive, rebate, and grant programs.
Supporting County Departments
Energy Coordination works collaboratively with County departments to support consistent and effective energy and utility management. This includes assisting with facility performance evaluations, identifying improvement opportunities, supporting capital planning efforts, and coordinating the implementation of energy-related projects and programs.
