The County's safety program protects County employees and other County interests from risk and harm. The safety program emphasizes the risk management process of recognizing possible exposures, implement appropriate techniques, and monitor for results.

The Safety team provides:

  • Ergonomic Assessments and Reviews

If an employee or his or her department wish to arrange for an ergonomic workstation assessment on a proactive basis in order to prevent future injury, please:

  • Fill out the ergonomic checklist and review it with your supervisor.
  • If you still wish Risk Management to assess your work area, contact them at the below number. A representative from the department will arrange to meet with you to evaluate your workstation.

What does an evaluation include?

At the ergonomic evaluation, the representative will review your ergonomic checklist and discuss ways to optimize your workstation setup to maximize your comfort and minimize risk of work-related injuries while using your computer. Components to be reviewed include:

  • chair height and back support
  • monitor height and viewing distance
  • keyboard and mouse placement

Additionally, they will suggest the best posture while seated at your PC and give you a list of suggestions for exercises and stretches.

Other Ergonomic Resources:

  • Facility safety inspections
  • Indoor air quality surveys
  • Safety program review
  • Safety training
