Greenfield Park Vehicle Closure - Monday, April 9th - Thursday, April 19th
Greenfield Park will be closed to vehicles from Monday, April 9th - Thursday, April 19th due to road construction planned on Audrey Avenue during that time. Audrey Avenue is the entrance to the park. Foot traffic will be allowed on the road and the park will be open to the public.
The Kern County Parks Division has 40 picnic areas in almost every community in Kern County. Most of these parks offer you cooling shade trees,
playgrounds and picnic tables. They are an ideal spot for a family gathering, for example, as an inexpensive and fun alternative for your
children's birthday parties. You can even bring a bounce house, if it is on our list of approved providers. Availability is first-come,
first serve, except at Hart Memorial Park where you can reserve designated picnic areas.
We also offer group picnic areas to accommodate events such as a family reunion, a company picnic or a wedding.
These include the Kern River County Park,
Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area,
Camp Okihi, Stramler Park,
Hart Memorial Park, and Leroy Jackson Park.
We invite you to visit our parks to determine the best one for your upcoming event.
Their amenities include raised bandstands with electrical outlets, deep pit barbecues, food preparation area, large grills, picnic tables and children's play areas - just about everything you need for a successful event.
