On June 16, 2015, the Board of Supervisors created the Human Resources Division of the County Administrative Office (CAO), consolidating the existing Personnel Department and the CAO's Employee Relations and Health Benefits Divisions. The Human Resources Division is committed to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our services while maintaining the Civil Service merit system and the Kern County Civil Service Commission. The Human Resources Division provides a single point of contact for public access to job searches and employee access to benefit information. Consolidating the Human Resources functions also provides County Departments with streamlined access to the full complement of Human Resources services, including classification,compensation, recruitment, and testing.
